RNA, Long Noncoding
Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) refers to a class of RNA molecules that are longer than 200 nucleotides and do not encode proteins. They were once considered transcriptional "noise," but recent studies have shown that they play crucial roles in various biological processes, such as regulation of gene expression, chromatin modification, and cellular development. Dysregulation of lncRNAs has been linked to numerous human diseases, including cancers, making them attractive targets for diagnostic markers and therapeutic interventions.
Silver-Russell Syndrome
Silver-Russell syndrome (SRS) is a rare genetic disorder characterized by intrauterine and postnatal growth restriction, relative macrocephaly at birth with subsequent postnatal microcephaly, a prominent forehead, protruding ears, body asymmetry, and feeding difficulties in early infancy. The diagnosis of SRS typically requires the presence of several characteristic clinical features as well as molecular genetic testing that demonstrates hypomethylation of the imprinting center 1 (IC1) region on chromosome 11 or maternal uniparental disomy of chromosome 7 (UPD(7)mat). SRS is associated with an increased risk of neurodevelopmental delay and other medical issues, and affected individuals often require multidisciplinary care to address their various needs.
RNA, Untranslated
"RNA, Untranslated" refers to the regions of an mRNA (messenger RNA) molecule that do not contain information for protein synthesis. These untranslated regions (UTRs) are located at the 5' end (5' UTR) and 3' end (3' UTR) of the mRNA, flanking the coding sequence (CDS). The UTRs play a role in regulating the stability, translation efficiency, and localization of the mRNA. Despite not encoding proteins directly, untranslated regions can have significant impacts on gene expression and regulation.

Gnagarsjukdomar
"Rodent-borne diseases" refer to illnesses that can be transmitted to humans through exposure to infected rodents, such as rats and mice, or their urine and feces. Examples of such diseases include leptospirosis, hantavirus pulmonary syndrome, salmonellosis, and rat-bite fever. It is essential to maintain good hygiene practices and proper pest control to prevent the spread of these diseases.
