Tumörlyssyndrom
A tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is a metabolic disorder that occurs when a large number of cancer cells are killed rapidly, releasing their contents into the bloodstream, leading to an imbalance of electrolytes and other metabolites, which can cause serious complications such as kidney failure, cardiac arrhythmias, and seizures.
Uratoxidas
B-cellsleukemi, kronisk
Kronic B-cell leukemia is a type of cancer that affects the B-lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell that plays a crucial role in the immune system by producing antibodies to help fight infections. In chronic B-cell leukemia, the bone marrow produces an excessive number of abnormal, mature-appearing B-lymphocytes, which accumulate in the blood, bone marrow, and other organs. These abnormal cells crowd out the healthy cells, leading to a weakened immune system and various symptoms such as fatigue, weight loss, frequent infections, and anemia. The disease progresses slowly, often over years, and is typically diagnosed in advanced stages. Treatment options include chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and stem cell transplantation.
