Pterygomuskler
"Pterygoid muscles" refers to a pair of muscles in the head, specifically in the deep portion of the cheek, near the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint). These muscles consist of two parts: the larger medial pterygoid and the smaller lateral pterygoid. The medial pterygoid helps with closing the jaw and moving it side to side, while the lateral pterygoid assists in opening the jaw and positioning the jaw joint during movements like chewing and speaking.
