New sphingolipids, 1,3,5-trihydroxy-2-hexadecanoylamino-(6E,9E)-heptacosdiene (1). 1,3,5-trihydroxy-2-hexadecanoylamino-(6E,9E)-heptacosdiene-1-O-glucopyranoside (2). 1,3-dihydroxy-2-hexanoylamino-(4E)-heptadecene (3). have been isolated from Conyza canadensis, along with five known compounds, p-hydroxybenzoic acid, 3,5-dihydroxybenzoic acid, 3,5-dimethoxybenzoic acid, 3beta-hydroxyolean-12-en-28-oic acid, and 3beta-erythrodiol, isolated for the first time from this species. Their structures were determined by spectroscopic methods ((1)H- and (13)C-NMR, IR and MS) and two dimensional (2D)-NMR experiments. (+info)"Conyza" is a genus of flowering plants in the daisy family, also known as horseweed or mare's tail. It includes several species that are found worldwide, including some that are considered weeds. Here are some medical definitions related to Conyza:
* Conyza canadensis (Canada fleabane): This plant contains various chemical compounds that have been studied for their potential medicinal properties, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antimicrobial activities. However, there is limited research on its safety and efficacy in humans.
* Conyza bonariensis (Brazilian tea): This plant has been used in traditional medicine to treat various ailments, such as respiratory and digestive problems. Some studies suggest that it may have anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, and analgesic effects. However, more research is needed to confirm its safety and efficacy.
* Conyza sumatrensis (Sumatran fleabane): This plant has been used in traditional medicine to treat skin diseases, wounds, and fever. Some studies suggest that it may have anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antioxidant properties. However, more research is needed to confirm its safety and efficacy.
It's important to note that while some Conyza species may have potential medicinal benefits, they should not be used as a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Additionally, some species of Conyza can cause allergic reactions or skin irritation in sensitive individuals, so it's recommended to consult with a healthcare provider before using any products containing these plants.

Sites3
- We recovered AMF spores from rhizospheric soils of Conyza in native and non-native ranges, besides doing so from the uninvaded sites in the introduced region. (springeropen.com)
- The results indicated greater diversity of RGs and SGs in Conyza rhizosphere in native than in non-native sites. (springeropen.com)
- Though difference in AMF diversity between Conyza invaded and uninvaded sites may be attributed to invasion, the role of other evolutionary factors seems likely for differences between the native and non-native regions. (springeropen.com)
