Tambouranolide, a new cytotoxic hydroxybutanolide from a Tambourissa sp. (Monimiaceae). (1/2)
A new cytotoxic hydroxybutanolide, tambouranolide, has been isolated by solid phase extraction from an ethanol extract of the dried roots of a species of Tambourissa (Monimiaceae) from the Madagascar rainforest. The structure was elucidated through the interpretation of spectral data and its comparison to data reported in the literature for related molecules. The compound showed moderate in vitro cytotoxicity with an IC50 of 8 micro g mL(-1) in the A2780 human ovarian cancer cell line assay. (+info)Wood anatomy of Mollinedia glabra (Spreng.) (+info)I apologize for any confusion, but "Monimiaceae" is not a medical term. It is a taxonomic category in botany, specifically a family of flowering plants. Monimiaceae includes around 25 genera and about 300 species of trees, shrubs, and climbers found primarily in tropical and subtropical regions of the world. Some members of this family have been used in traditional medicine, but "Monimiaceae" itself does not have a medical definition.
I apologize for any confusion, but "Hernandiaceae" is not a medical term. It is a taxonomic category in botany, referring to a family of flowering plants known as the Hernandiaceae family. This family includes around 50 species of trees and shrubs found primarily in tropical regions.

I'm sorry for any confusion, but "Peumus" is not a medical term. It is actually the genus name for a type of tree known as the Chilean wine palm or Jubaea chilensis. The trees are native to Chile and are known for their tall trunks and large, fan-like leaves. The sap from the tree can be used to make a sweet syrup, and the seeds can be roasted and eaten. I hope this clarifies any confusion!
I apologize for any confusion, but "Chile" is not a medical term or concept. It is a country located in South America, known for its long and narrow geography, diverse landscapes, and rich cultural heritage. If you have any questions related to medicine or health, I would be happy to try and help answer those for you.

Some well-known examples of medical encyclopedias include the Merck Manual and the Stedman's Medical Dictionary.
