Diabetes is a metabolic disease in which the patient has high blood Glucose. It is of two types- Type 1 and type 2.

Type 1 Diabetes-

• It is a autoimmune disease.
• No longer produces Insulin
• Beta cells have been destroyed
• Dependent on Insulin for the rest of their life.

Type 2 Diabetes-

• Insulin Resistance.
• Doesn’t produce enough Insulin.
• Beta cells deteriorate over time.
• Insulin injection may be required at some point.

Those with high blood glucose levels experience frequent urination (polyuria), and constant thirst ((polydipsia) and hunger (polyphagia).
